Custom Gifts and Giveaways for Businesses

Custom clothing and accessories with logo, including a hoodie, t-shirt, cap, notebook, and pens.

Choosing personalized gifts for companies seems simple, but there are decisions that make the difference between a piece people wear with pride and one that ends up forgotten in a drawer.

At Matter Studio we work with companies of different sizes, and along the way we've noticed that the most common mistakes have nothing to do with design, but with the choices made before you even think about the logo.

Why personalized clothing works so well as a gift

A gift has a structural problem: in most cases, the person receiving it already has what they need. Pens, notepads, keychains—it all piles up and disappears.

Clothing is different for a simple reason: people need to get dressed every day. A quality t-shirt, a comfortable hoodie, or a well-made cap becomes part of the person's routine. And when they wear it outside a work setting, the brand goes with them.

The return on a clothing gift goes far beyond the moment it's given.

The pieces we recommend for each context

Not every piece works the same way in every context. Here's what we recommend based on our experience with corporate clients:

T-shirt for events and team activities

A t-shirt is the most versatile and affordable piece. For events, team-building activities, trade fairs, and marketing campaigns, it's the right choice because it has a controlled cost, comes in many colors and sizes, and allows for designs with a larger print area.

For a business context we recommend fabrics of 180 to 190 g/m², which convey more quality than thin promotional t-shirts. The difference is noticeable to the touch and is what separates a giveaway that impresses from one that doesn't.

Hoodie for welcome packs and high-value gifts

A hoodie is the piece with the highest perceived value. When a company gives a quality hoodie as part of a welcome pack for new hires, it sends the message that it cares about the person receiving it. It's a bigger investment per piece, but the impact is proportionally greater.

We recommend hoodies with at least 280 to 300 g/m², a soft lining, and a modern cut. A quality hoodie lasts for years and gets worn often, which means your brand stays in circulation for a long time.

Cap for outdoor events and premium merch

O cap is often underestimated in a corporate context, but it's one of the pieces with the highest actual usage rate. People who receive a well-made cap actually wear it. For summer events, sports, outdoor team-building activities, or as an add-on to a gift pack, a cap with an embroidered logo has a very professional finish.

Embroidery or DTF printing: what makes more sense for corporate gifts

This is the question we get most often from corporate clients. The answer depends on the type of design and the result you're after.

Embroidery is the preferred technique for corporate gifts when the logo is simple, with clean shapes and up to 6 solid colors. Embroidery has a tactile presence that printing can't replicate. When someone runs their hand over well-done embroidery, they immediately sense it's premium. It's the ideal technique for caps, polos, and pieces meant to be worn in a professional or formal setting.

DTF Printing is the right choice when the design has many colors, gradients, detailed illustrations, or elements that embroidery can't reproduce accurately. For events with creative designs, mascot campaigns, or more complex visual identities, DTF guarantees maximum fidelity to the original design.

At Matter Studio we review each client's file before confirming the technique. If your logo works better embroidered, we'll tell you. If it has details that embroidery can't reproduce, we'll recommend DTF. The goal is always to get the best possible final result.

According to promotional marketing studiescustom textile giveaways have one of the highest retention rates of any type of corporate gift.

Practical ideas by occasion

Welcome pack for new hires

It's one of the smartest uses of custom apparel in a business context. A well-thought-out welcome pack can include a t-shirt, a hoodie or sweatshirt, and a cap, all with the company logo.

The impact is immediate: the new hire feels welcomed and that the company cared enough to prepare something special. It's an investment in company culture that pays off in real terms of belonging and pride in representing the brand.

Gifts for clients and partners

In this case, quality matters even more. You're giving something to someone who represents or decides. A quality hoodie with a well-executed logo communicates professionalism and attention to detail, far more than a pen or a notepad.

We recommend pieces with a production cost above 15 euros per unit for this segment. Below that, the perceived quality doesn't justify the investment in customization.

Events and team buildings

For events the criteria change. Here, the most important thing is visual consistency across all participants and a design that creates a memory of the moment. The t-shirt is the right piece for its accessibility and ease of managing sizes on a large order.

Practical tip: always ask for a size breakdown before confirming the order. The most common mistake in event orders is underestimating larger sizes and overestimating small ones.

Year-end gifts

Year-end is when most companies reach out to us for custom clothing orders to give to employees and clients. Our advice is always the same: start planning at least 4 to 6 weeks in advance.

For year-end gifts, the hoodie is the best-received piece because it's seasonal, practical, and has a high perceived value. Careful embroidery on quality fabric is what sets apart a gift that impresses from one that goes unnoticed.

How to calculate your budget

The cost of a custom gift order depends on three factors: the piece chosen, the customization technique, and the number of areas to customize per piece.

As a practical reference, a t-shirt with the logo on the left chest in DTF printing runs between 13 and 22 euros per piece for an order of 10 to 20 units. A hoodie with embroidery on the chest and sleeves can range between 35 and 50 euros per piece, depending on the model and the complexity of the embroidery.

At Matter Studio the price already includes one product customization. The price per piece always includes production and customization, and each extra customization adds to the cost.

For business orders with specific requirements, we recommend getting in touch by email before placing your order on the site. We can put together a proposal tailored to your project, with product references, color samples, and a cost estimate with no commitment.

What Matter Studio does differently for business clients

We work with companies that want quality custom apparel, without absurd minimum order quantities and with a simple process.

Our online customizer lets you upload your logo, position it on the piece, and see the result before confirming. For business clients who need to approve the design internally before moving forward, this is a real advantage.

For larger or more complex projects, our team is available to closely follow the process, from choosing the piece to final design approval.
